YAML to JSON converter
Paste YAML, a CI config, a Kubernetes manifest, a front-matter block, and get the equivalent JSON pretty-printed with 2 spaces. Nothing you paste leaves your browser.
Text is processed by your own browser and never leaves your device: this page has no server to send it to.
How it works
Parsing uses the YAML safe schema: mappings, sequences, strings, numbers, booleans and null, with none of the language-specific tag types that made old YAML parsers a security problem. The result is serialized with JSON.stringify at 2-space indent. The parser chunk loads on first use.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my YAML fail to parse?
Indentation is almost always the culprit: YAML forbids tabs for indentation and every nesting level must be consistent. The error message points at the line where parsing gave up.
What happens to anchors and merge keys?
Anchors and aliases are resolved during parsing, so the JSON contains the expanded values. That is normally what you want when converting a config to feed a JSON-only tool.
Are YAML comments preserved?
No. JSON has no comment syntax, so comments are dropped in conversion. If you need them back, keep the YAML as the source of truth and convert on demand.
