CSV to JSON converter

Paste CSV below and get an array of JSON objects, with the first row used as keys. Comma, semicolon and tab delimiters are detected automatically, and nothing you paste leaves your browser.

Output

Text is processed by your own browser and never leaves your device: this page has no server to send it to.

How it works

The first row becomes the object keys and every following row becomes one object. The parser follows the CSV standard (RFC 4180): quoted fields, escaped quotes and line breaks inside quotes all work. Values that look like numbers or true/false are typed instead of left as strings.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with semicolon-separated files?

Yes. Spreadsheets set to a Spanish or other European locale export CSV with semicolons; the tool detects comma, semicolon or tab from the first line automatically.

Are numbers and booleans converted?

Values that look like numbers become JSON numbers and true/false become booleans. Everything else, including empty cells, stays a string so no data is lost.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion is plain JavaScript running in your browser tab. Close the tab and the data is gone; there is no server, log or account involved.
