Unix timestamp converter
Paste a Unix timestamp in seconds or milliseconds, or an ISO date, and read it in every useful form: epoch seconds and milliseconds, ISO 8601 UTC, your local time and a relative phrase. Nothing leaves your browser.

How it works
Bare numbers are interpreted by digit count: up to 11 digits are seconds, up to 14 milliseconds and up to 17 microseconds, which covers every epoch a real system emits. Date strings go through the browser's ISO 8601 parser. The local line is formatted in your own system timezone.
Frequently asked questions
How do I tell seconds from milliseconds?
By length: current dates are 10 digits in seconds and 13 in milliseconds. The tool applies exactly that rule, so pasting either form gives the same moment.
What is the year 2038 problem?
Systems storing epoch seconds in a signed 32-bit integer overflow on 2038-01-19. Anything using 64-bit integers or milliseconds, which is every modern platform, is unaffected.
Which timezone do the outputs use?
Epoch values and the ISO line are UTC by definition. The local line is formatted in your own system timezone by your browser; nothing is guessed server-side because there is no server.
