Rotate and flip image

Pick an image, rotate it in 90 degree steps or mirror it horizontally or vertically, check the live preview, and download the result. The image never leaves your browser.

How it works

Rotation happens in exact 90 degree steps on a canvas, so every pixel is preserved: a quarter turn just swaps rows for columns with zero quality loss when you export as PNG. Flips mirror the pixel grid the same lossless way. Arbitrary angles are deliberately not offered; they require interpolation and crop decisions that belong in a photo editor.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my phone photo come out sideways elsewhere?

Phones often store the image sideways plus an orientation flag, and some software ignores the flag. Browsers apply it on load, so what you see here is the corrected image; rotating and re-exporting bakes the correct orientation into the pixels for every viewer.

Is rotating lossless?

In 90 degree steps, yes: pixels are rearranged, not resampled. Export as PNG to keep it lossless end to end; exporting as JPG or WebP re-encodes, which costs a little quality.

Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle, like 3 degrees?

Not here. Small-angle straightening needs resampling and a crop of the resulting borders, which is an editing decision; a photo editor does that properly. This tool covers the lossless cases.
