Resize image
Pick an image and resize it to an exact width, height, percentage or longest-edge cap; the aspect ratio is always preserved so nothing gets distorted. The pixels never leave your browser.

How it works
The image is redrawn on a canvas at the target dimensions using your browser's own high-quality scaler, then re-encoded in the format you choose. Downscaling keeps photos sharp; upscaling cannot invent detail, so expect softness beyond about 150% of the original.
Frequently asked questions
Will resizing distort my image?
No. Whichever dimension you set, the other is computed from the original aspect ratio and the result is rounded to whole pixels. Distortion-free by construction.
Which size should I use for the web?
For content images, 1200 to 1600 px on the longest edge covers almost every layout at reasonable weight; our own guide heroes ship at 1200 px wide. Icons and thumbnails do better generated at their exact display size.
Can I enlarge a small image?
You can, and sometimes a 120% bump is all a layout needs. But scaling up cannot add detail: past roughly 150% the softness becomes visible, and a proper upscaler (or the original at higher resolution) is the better fix.
