Markdown to HTML converter

Paste Markdown on the left and copy the generated HTML on the right, live as you type. GitHub-flavored syntax is on, so tables, fenced code blocks and strikethrough all convert. Nothing leaves your browser.

Output

Text is processed by your own browser and never leaves your device: this page has no server to send it to.

How it works

Conversion uses a CommonMark-compliant parser with the GitHub Flavored Markdown extensions enabled, the dialect virtually every README and static-site generator understands. The output is the HTML fragment itself, ready to paste into a template; no wrapper document is added.

Frequently asked questions

Which Markdown dialect is this?

CommonMark plus the GFM extensions: tables, fenced code with language classes, strikethrough and autolinks. That matches what GitHub, GitLab and most static site generators render.

Is the HTML output sanitized?

No, and that is deliberate: Markdown allows inline HTML by design. If the input comes from untrusted users, run the output through a sanitizer before injecting it into a page.

Why is my nested list rendering flat?

Nested list items must be indented to align under the parent's text, typically 2 or 4 spaces. One space too few and the parser reads a single flat list.
