HTML entities decoder
Paste text full of &, é or € and read it as normal characters. Named, decimal and hex numeric entities are all decoded, and nothing you paste leaves your browser.
Text is processed by your own browser and never leaves your device: this page has no server to send it to.
How it works
Three entity forms are recognized: named (é), decimal numeric (é) and hex numeric (é), all decoding to the same character. An ampersand sequence that is not a known entity is left exactly as written rather than guessed at.
Frequently asked questions
Why is some text still showing &something; after decoding?
It was not a recognizable entity: a typo, a truncated reference, or an uncommon name outside the supported set. Unknown sequences pass through untouched so no data is invented.
My text shows é instead of é. What happened?
It was encoded twice: the & of é got escaped again into &. Decode twice and the original character comes back; the double escape is a classic template bug.
Does decoding execute any HTML?
No. This is pure text substitution in your browser tab; the result is never parsed or rendered as markup by the page.
